HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST FIRE EXTINGUISHER

To know that anti-fire extinguisher must choose we must know what kind of fire we put out.

Fire can be four different classes:

Class A - Fire solids such as wood, plastic, coal, etc ...

Class B - Fires liquids such as gasoline, solvents, paints, etc ...

Class C - Fires of gases such as butane, propane, natural gas, etc ...

Class D - Fires of specialty metals such as sodium, magnesium, potassium, etc ...

 
Once we know what kind of fire we can try shutting down and choose the best method for fire extinguishing in particular.

To know what is the best method of extinguishing a fire can be guided by the table I-1 of the Regulations RII fire protection facilities.
 

 It is very important to know what the extinguishing agent to use for each type of fire.

To interpret this table will need the following instructions:
xxx - Very appropriate
xx - Adequate
x - Acceptable
(1) In fires shallow (depth less than 5 mm) can be allocated xx.
(2) In the presence of voltage are not acceptable as the extinguishing water spray or foam, the rest of extinguishing agents may be used in extinguishing those exceeding the standard dielectric test at UNE 23,110.
