Gas cylinder explosion left three wounded in Quito , according to firefighters.

The explosion of a gas cylinder in the La Christiania (Eloy Alfaro and Manuel Ambrosi) altered the residents north of the capital. So reported the Fire Department Quito.

The explosion, which occurred at 11:34 on Sunday May 17, generated a loud crash and broke the windows of the apartment located on the second floor; plus burns caused three people who were on the site.

A woman of 21, a child of a year and a small three, had to be moved to health care urgently for second-degree burns. According to information of the fire, the minors were taken away to the Baca Ortiz Hospital and women to Eugenio Espejo.

In the operation they involved 16 firefighters effective two rescue units and two ambulances.

By 14:30 firefighters reported that the sector had been safely. From the first observations it was found that the gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen was the property.

In March another gas cylinder explosion occurred. This time, in the south of Quito. Last December, however there was an explosion in the field of Eloy Alfaro and Portugal, in a building with centralized gas system. (I)
