Neighbor spots house fire in Lake Ridge Sunday night

A neighbor helped alert a Lake Ridge resident to a late-night fire Thursday, according to Prince William fire and rescue officials.

Firefighters responded around 11:37 p.m. to the home in 12000 block of Torrey Pine Court, and found heavy fire on the outside of the home and extending into the attic.

The home received moderate damage and posted unsafe. American Red Cross assisted the resident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
